Arsenal look set to bring the Leandro Trossard chapter to a close, with reports indicating a €20 million agreement has been reached with Beşiktaş for the Belgian forward.
According to James in The Athletic, the deal between Arsenal and Beşiktaş is now in place, ending weeks of speculation over the 31-year-old’s future in North London. While an official announcement is expected after his World Cup duty with Belgium, the move already feels like a natural conclusion to a quietly productive spell.
Leandro Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023, arriving at a moment when the club had missed out on Mykhailo Mudryk, who instead moved to Chelsea. At the time, Trossard was seen as a smart, lower-risk alternative to a far more expensive target, and the numbers back that up.
Over his time in North London, he made 174 appearances, scoring 36 goals and providing 34 assists. More importantly for a team often stretched by injuries, he was consistently available and reliable across multiple attacking roles. His output may not always have grabbed headlines, but his influence was steady and often came in important moments.
There were quieter spells, as there are with most wide forwards, but Trossard still delivered when it mattered. He contributed six goals and six assists in the Premier League during Arsenal’s title-winning campaign in May, playing a meaningful supporting role in a squad that had little margin for error.
The broader context also matters. With just a year left on his contract and now entering the later stages of his career, a departure makes sense for both sides.
